A hair graft is a unit of hair used in permanent hair transplantation. Each graft typically contains about 1 to 4 hair follicles, depending on the individual’s hair characteristics. During the hair transplant procedure, grafts are taken from the back or sides of the scalp—areas where hair is typically stronger and more resistant to hair loss—and then implanted into areas with thinning hair or bald spots.
This technique offers long-lasting results because the transplanted hair retains its original properties, meaning it is less likely to fall out. The newly grown hair looks natural and can last for many years. The number of grafts required depends on the size of the area to be treated and the desired hair density.
